Window for hcv ab test and hcv rna test?

HCV: Nowadays with polymerase chain reaction technology it is making "window" periods a less discussed issue. Can STD's like: AIDs,HPV,Gonorrhea, syphlis transmit through external genital contact and no penetration -no sexual intercourse?

Rarely for some STDs: Thanks for your question. Very low risk for all STDs and zero risk for some. No risk -- at least low enough to be ignored -- for STDs passed by genital fluids (gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, hepatitis B). STDs that are transmitted skin-to-skin (herpes, HPV, syphilis) could be transmitted, but very rarely even for these. I hope this helps. Stay safe! ...Read more

Are non penetrative sex practices risky for contracting leprosy? E.g.: female (active) to male (passive) masturbation without condom, fellatio.

Are non penetrative sex practices risky for contracting leprosy? E.g.: female (active) to male (passive) masturbation without condom, fellatio.

Maybe, but low risk: Any personal contact (kissing, skin contact, etc) can transmit leprosy. This includes sex, both penetrating and non penetrating, but probably no more often than other contact. Fortunately, leprosy is quite hard to transmit. Most household and sexual contacts (e.g. spouses) never catch it themselves. I suggest you discuss it with the doctor or clinic caring for the person with leprosy. ...Read more
