Hcg Trigger Shots
About 7 to 10 days: Ovidrel or generic HCG 10, 000 I u will last approximately 7 to 10 days after the injection. Occasionally some patients will excrete the HCG over a 14 day period of time but this is very rare.See 2 more doctor answers
Don't be scared: An hCG injection is not dangerous. Tell us what you are concerned about?
Not recommended: Better not to have alcohol in her system if she has to go thru tahat because the very biginning is the most crucial, worth it to sacrifise the alcohol, and if she does u should join her.
Had to take my first hCG trigger shot was supposed to use two ccs but I messed up and used a little more will it mess anything up help I'm worried?
No: I assume you are using this for weight loss. It will not hurt but next time, have your pcp perscribe pre measured syringes.
How long does is take for a 10, 000 iu, generic hCG trigger shot take to leave the system? I had a positive test today, 12 days past trigger. Accurate?
It is quite possible: It may take up to 14-16 days for the HCG to leave your system completely!
HCG shot: Usually you would only ovulate 40 hours or so after a trigger shot. The shot mimics an LH surge and so it is short lived.
Depends: Usually ultra sound is by the vaginal route these days. If abdominal ultrasound is performed then the follicles are usually approximately 2 mm smaller. On Clomid (clomiphene) or Femara I usually trigger ovulation with HCG approximately 18 to 20 mm. With gonadotropins I normally trigger ovulation around 20 -21mm. Patients with pcos or polycystic ovarian syndrome triggering ovulation needs to be somewhat later at approximately 21 to 22 mm.
I gave myself my hCG trigger shot I think in the wrong area. I did it in the love handle rather than the butt. Will that be an issue?
None, both are SQ: (SubCutaneous) injections & depend on blood vessels to pick up & distribute the molecules body wide. The bigger issue is why taking HCG? Promoted by some & expensive yet without good double blinded prospective clinical trials which demonstrate any actual benefits vs. Downsides/costs. Study: http://goo. Gl/O82NOh, http://goo. If you have multiple follicles and you have the hCG trigger shot. Do all the follicles ovulate at the same time?
I had a hCG trigger shot 3 days ago for a 20.5mm egg. But my BBT still hasn't risen. Is this normal? Does it mean I haven't ovulated?
Not necessarily: Bbts are notoriously unreliable and most fertility docs no longer use them. They must be done properly and even then may not show a rise. Even if there is a rise, it still could take a few more days to show up.
Natural LH surge before hCG trigger shot or not? Is it best to time the trigger at +opk or should OPK show nearly positive for best result?
Little difference: It probably makes very little, if any difference. Once OPK is + no reason to wait any longer before hCG.
I had an hCG trigger shot this morning. We are doing an IUI tmrw and the next day. Can I be active today? And just take it easy the next two days.
If I just had my hcg trigger shot today would it be safe to have one beer when out for my anniversary dinner Saturday evening?
Would not drink: alcohol after administration of any drug. Just not a good idea.
On average when does ovulation occur after an HCG trigger shot? I took 5mg of letrozole days 3-7, two mature follicles on day 11, had trigger that day
24-48 hours: We can not determine the exact moment of ovulation in any one individual in any one cycle. The average time is 24-48 hours
We are doing timed intercourse along with hCG trigger shot. We had sex 12, 36, and 48 hours after the shot should we keep having sex, or is this 2much?
Advice: Some doctors would be fine with this interval, others might recommend every other day, or 48 hours between timed intercourse. Did you ask your physician what he/she recommended? Sometimes if the problem with fertility is male factor, drs will recommend more time between sexual intercourse. No male factor, then okay to have more frequent.
