My hCG blood test wwas 35mIu/ml?

My hCG blood test wwas 35mIu/ml?

Need more info: This seems like a normal level for early pregnancy, but to be sure, you should state how many weeks you are. As long as you're having an appropriate rise in your HCG level (doubling every 48-72 hrs), then there's nothing to worry about. There's no need for you to continue checking your HCG level, however, unless you have concerns for miscarriage or your doctor recommends it. Congrats! ...Read more

When should preg test done (blood test)..? L.M.P 24/3/2015

When should preg test done (blood test)..? L.M.P 24/3/2015

Only if Dr. wants it: Otherwise, a home urine test works just fine. Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. Home tests are cheap and sold everywhere. ...Read more

No: Molar pregnancies are almost never diagnosed this early. Good news! The hCG is rising at a mostly appropriate rate, the "doubling time" is not exact. Why are so many quants being done so many days in a row? ...Read more

Does mirena (levonorgestrel) affect hCG test?

Does mirena (levonorgestrel) affect hCG test?

No.: Any pregnancy test done on a patient with a Mirena (levonorgestrel) should be negative. If you have a positive test, you need to see your doctor right away, to see if you are pregnant with the iud in place. There is a high risk of ectopic pregnancy when one conceives w/mirena in place. There are other, very uncommon causes of + HCG test, but pregnancy is the first condition to be checked for. ...Read more

Low hCG in blood test, negative urine test, can I still be pregnant when missed period but on duphaston?

Yes: Blood tests detect lower levels of HCG than urine tests do. Duphaston will not have an effect on the HCG detection by blood or urine. Repeat blood HCG or urine testing in 7 days would confirm a pregnancy if there is one. ...Read more

Home pregnancy test was positive but blood hCG came back negative. Ob perform a blood test again. Hcg 750 progesterone 21. Why first hCG was negative?

Lab error: Presuming the first blood pregnancy test was close to the second, one of them had to be a lab error, probably the first one that was negative. If there is any question about the health of the pregnancy, your doctor can follow the bhcg level to see if it is rising appropriately and obtain an ultrasound when the level is high enough. For more info www.Askyourgynecologist.Org. ...Read more

Intercourse on 7/1 only. hcg blood test <2 yesterday. still need test? thanks

Depends: Did you miss a period? If you did and the HCG level was done after missed period, you are not pregnant. If you did not miss a period you may wish to do a home test. If you miss your period by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. ...Read more

Early pregnancy: The timing is right for a 5 week pregnancy but the HCG is much lower than may be normal. If you are not having any spotting, pain or bleeding, then repeating the ultrasound in 1 - 2 weeks will let you know definitively what is going on. Still, if any of the other symptoms occur, you should see your doctor. ...Read more
