Normal: The results are normal and you should be reassured. The overall result - not increased for trisomies - is what to focus on given it's the result of an algorithm designed for this purpose. Great news. ...Read more
Will my hCG levels continue to double with a blighted ovum? Mine are more than doubling ges sac measuring 5w5d however i'm 5w2d. Hcg 4967 no yolk sac
Generally not: If your HCG is doubling and the sac is approx. Consistent with your dates, chances are that you do not have a blighted ovum - could be a normal pregnancy. Keep checking sonos and hcg's - may need intervention if signs of fetal activity / growth are not evident. Good luck. ...Read more
Hcg levels continue to double mine are more than doubling ges sac measuring 5w5d however i'm 5w2d. Hcg 4967 no yolk sac. Ovulated 18aug?
Perfect: Your #'s are perfect. For an ovulation of 8/18, and therefore a conception date shortly thereafter, you're measurements are right on, and your HCG is correlating perfectly with these numbers. A yolk sac will likely form in next few days. You should heart a heart beat in about 7 more days. No worries at all! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Pregnancy seen with yolk gestational sac measures 10mm on 09/28/15 hcg levels 13,129 how many wks does that put me at?
Ivf pregnant week8 dr confirm triplet blighted hCG 8k. However saw a yolk sac in 1sac@week9 when consulted another dr. Chances of remain preg? Week7 hcg7k
Miscarriage?: There should be more than a yolk sac by now. There should be a fetus with a heart beat. It would appear that you have a missed abortion or what is normally called a miscarriage. This is unfortunate. Your infertility specialist that performed the ivf would be the best one to determine this. ...Read more

Ivf pregnancy week 6. Triplets measure at week 4+ no yolk and heartbeat seen. Is this normal? Or blighted ovum?
Depends on size: If they are measuring only 4 weeks it's possible they are normal, but this is unlikely given ivf. What are the sizes of the gestational sacs? ...Read more
If chances of conception increase in 2 embryo transfer IVF Why doc recomend single embryo?what are risks of 2 embryo apart from twins?
It's all about twins: Twins are a little bit trickier pregnancy. Twinning with 2 embryos is as high as 20-30%. In the US the ASRM allows 1 or 2 embryos in a 29 year old woman, but recommends only one. Personally I believe this is patient's choice and do NOT recommend 1 vs. 2, but that's me. Your info says you are 29 and in the UK? I do not know the UK standard of care but the science is the same. Best wishes! ...Read more
See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, the level seems higher than usual and you should discuss it with your doctor to check of twin pregnancy or other explanation. Wish you good health and a healthy baby! ...Read more

Early pregnancy: The timing is right for a 5 week pregnancy but the HCG is much lower than may be normal. If you are not having any spotting, pain or bleeding, then repeating the ultrasound in 1 - 2 weeks will let you know definitively what is going on. Still, if any of the other symptoms occur, you should see your doctor. ...Read more

We had IVF with PGS and 5d blastocyst. When our embryo was 6w4d, we saw 13mm empty GS w/o yolk sac and fetal pole. hCG doubling. How likely is it BO?
May be too early...: .... to tell how well your early pregnancy is going. Generally, with a singleton non-IVF intrauterine pregnancy, the embryonic developmental milestones are known and there are sonographic criteria to diagnose a failed or failing pregnancy that may not apply to all IVF pregnancies. Usually, diagnosis of a failed pregnancy will be made if the mean gestational sac diam.is >25 mm and no embryo is seen ...Read more

U/s at 6 wks 2 days showed yolk sac but no embryo and measurements of only 5.5 weeks. Used hcg trigger so exact dates- what are chances of viable baby?
Expect heart beat: With accurate dating, the ultrasound technology available and a skilled monographer a crown lump length should be measurable and a fetal heart beat demonstrable. If a transvaginal ultrasound in a week still does not show an embryo with a heart beat, I would be concerned that this is a non viable pregnancy. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
