Is 11, 000 hCG level normal for a 9 week pregnancy? I have also been bleeding and spotting for the past month.

Possible: The best use of your HCG level is to follow & see if a viable pregnancy is forming. At 11, 000.0 - a fetal pole should be visible on ultrasound exam. A normal pregnancy should also have increasing titers & usually doubles every 48 hours early in pregnancy. Spotting is common early in pregnancy & until the above is done, we can't say if your pregnancy is viable or not. Good luck. ...Read more

Hcg levels at 9weeks 3 days was 76,000, levels checked again at 9 weeks 5 days hcg was 80,000. When does hcg levels plateau? Normal or abnormal?

Why checking HCG?: It would be helpful if you provided the units on those lab values. Not sure if they're different in Canada vs. US. If you are truly 9 weeks pregnant why are they even checking your HCG levels? Are you bleeding? Is the baby measuring small? At 9 weeks gestation the most important findings are the baby's heart rate and if the baby is continuing to grow normally. ...Read more

Don't panic: Although the Progesterone drop is a sign of concern in the first trimester, it does not automatically mean you will miscarry, but it does increase the chance. Some OBs would consider placing you on Progesterone therapy to raise your level in hopes of maintaining the pregnancy at least until the placenta is able to take over and produce the needed Progesterone to sustain it.
