If hCG levels have a very wide normal variation, than how is it that doctors determine that a level of 634 is typical 2-3 weeks after conception?

It's similar to saying that a typical birthweight for a full-term newborn is 7lbs, even though we know that the normal full-term birth weights may range from ~5-11 pounds. Can take a long time: It can sometimes take a very long time for pregnancy hormone levels to completely go below the detection limit of the test (e.g., 5 mIU/ml). As long as there is pregnancy hormone activity around it is better to follow it to be sure it does not flare up. It is also good to be on effective birth control during this time period. How is it possible that hCG level of 634 be this high after only 3-4 days after jntercourse? Isn't the process much longer to get hCG produced?

What's the progesterone level - should be monitored as well as it supports a healthy early pregnancy. With doubling, 277 should become 554 (or thereabouts) two to three days later, then 1108 two to three days after that. ...Read more
