HCG for men: HCG is a hormone which can stimulate sperm production, and is given in shots of 5000 to 10000 units, depending on the hormonal assay, which should be provided by your healthcare professional who is prescribing the HCG. The results of the serum testosterone level post HCG will dictate the efficiency of the dose of HCG, so ask your doctor for an explanation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What is the risk associated with suppressing fsh/lh when using hCG to increase testosterone in men?
Minimal: Let's put it this way: using any type of t to replace/fix hypogonadism/andropause will also suppress fsh/lh. But more importantly, taking t will shut down testicular function from lack of fsh/lh. Using HCG to stimulate the testes to produce more t & sperm will result in negative feedback @ pituitary, thus suppress lh/fsh. But at least your testes are functioning fully. It's off-label but it works. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Why does everyone opposing hCG drops fail to mention a single harmful physiological effect of the substance in men? Can anyone identify one?
No good studies yet?: Information on harmful effects of hcg, of a particular brand, quality, or amount; on men of a particular age, race, bmi, lifestyle, etc.., may not be available (if such research has not been done). In modern medicine, research starts when scientists have a strong belief that a chemical is beneficial. Then they must get funding to set up randomized blinded controlled studies to test the hypothesis. ...Read more

Is it true that if you receive hCG injections while on testosterone, it will stop your testicles from shrinking? Do some men do this while on trt?
For fertility.: Giving testosterone (t) stops the pituitary from making hormones that stimulate t production and sperm production. Since most of the testes is for sperm production, use of t shrinks the testes. Giving injections of HCG and msh (which mimic pituitary hormones) can restore sperm production and fertility in some patients. Due to expense, it is only used for fertility, not just to prevent shrinkage. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
