Is hCG diet dangerous?

Is hCG diet dangerous?

Its probably safe: It will raise testosterone levels in men. The HCG diet has had side effects, but those are due to rapid weight loss (gall stones) and eating only 500 calories per day, starvation is not a great plan. I doubt the HCG itself causes many or any problems if used in low doses. ...Read more

Is 1772 high hCG level for 17 dpo?

Well.... : It is hard to make a judgment based on one isolated hormone level. BHCG levels vary widely from person to person. It's better to follow a trend by checking a second level a few days later. That gives you more information. ...Read more

I gained 35lb in 6mo. No change to diet/exercise. 1000-1200 calories of a gluten-free, dairy-free, all organic diet. Low WBC, High ALT, .49TSH. Ideas?

I gained 35lb in 6mo. No change to diet/exercise. 1000-1200 calories of a gluten-free, dairy-free, all organic diet. Low WBC, High ALT, .49TSH. Ideas?

Weight gain: When you say low WBC do you know how low? Also what was your T4 level? Sometimes people that are in extreme stressful conditions, poor sleep or high cortisol levels tend to affect your overall adrenal system. It may not be as apparent in a clinical setting but it can be subclinical. Doing things like mediation and yoga and frequent exercise can sometimes push you back to balance. ...Read more

May beta serum hcg 2.2 or reference renege 10.0 mlu/ml im pregnant?

Unclear results: If your BHCG is 2 then this means that you are not pregnant. A BHCG of less than 5 means that you are not pregnant. If you are saying your BHCG is 10 then this could indicate a very early pregnancy and should be repeated. ...Read more

Dear MDs: Although my daily diet is > 5000 mg of K rich food/fruits, my K is <3.4. By how much would 12.5 mg diuretic (hctz) decrease potassium level?

Dear MDs: Although my daily diet is > 5000 mg of K rich food/fruits, my K is <3.4. By how much would 12.5 mg diuretic (hctz) decrease potassium level?

Can be significant: HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide) can certainly do this! Also contributing can be subtle things like diuretic effects of alcohol or caffeine, even large amounts of licorice! Some forms of hypertension are associated with low K to begin with ("hyper aldosterone states") and are very sensitive to even low doses of HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide). ...Read more

Low aldosterone ~3, normal renin. Low Na, co2, high k. Creatinine 1.4-2.2 in same week. Can type 4 RTA cause this fluctuation in ckd? Neph endo no help

Type 4 RTA: If anyone can figure it out it should be a nephrologist. What did he, she or it say? There are many causes of Type 4 RTA and will need to ask a number of questions to help get to the cause. 1. Meds u r on? 2. were u on meds when renin and aldo were measured. 3.What did 24 hr urine at the same time show? 4. Other medical illnesses. Happy to have you consult directly with me. ...Read more

Hcg beta level=605.65miu/ml, progesterone=23.65ng/ml lmp=13jan, 1o day overdue. Is this normal? Too worried hCG is too low according to charts available

Trend is important: You should focus less on the tables and more on the pattern. The beta levels should at least double every three days. Your doctor will probably want to do an ultrasound when your beta reaches 2000 or so. The Progesterone is fine. ...Read more

Frozen cycle transferred 2 embryos grades aa and ab. Est level 665 and prog level 8.8. Is this good. Pt schedule 11/27?

Depends: The Progesterone level is a little low if you are on Progesterone shots but may be fine on vaginal progesterone. The embryos sound reasonably good but there is not way to know if you are pregnant. It is best to follow your clinic's instructions for testing and not test on your own. ...Read more

Fasting Plasma Glucose test reports HB A1c [HPLC] as 5.80% (5.7-6.4) and says "per-diabatic". What are some diet and lifestyle recommendations?

Low carb/grain diet: cut our grains/limit starches and increase good fats (olive oil, avocado, nuts). have good animal based protein intake (including organic eggs and fish). A1C of 5.8% is indeed in the impaired range and should normalize with the above diet and 10-20% weight loss if extra weight is present ...Read more

Yes!!!: Tsh is suppressed due to too much thyroid from your armour dose which contains a fixed ratio of T4 to t3 (liothyronine). I'm curious as to your free T3 (liothyronine) (ft3 (liothyronine)) value since your ft4 is low, too. Ft3 (liothyronine) is considered active hormone. However, by dropping your armour dose, both T4 & T3 (liothyronine) doses will drop in accordance, too. Chat w/your doc about branded levothyroxine (which brand isn't important as long as you stick w/one). ...Read more

I have high vitamin b/12 1370, iholotranscobalamim(active vitamin 12)by meta observed value was 128. Biological reference is 19 to 119 pmol/l suggest?

Interesting: I can assure you that this is not dangerous, but you are accumulating B12 and it is not being activated rto become useful as a virtamin. Oddly enough, it may indicate vitamin b1 deficiency. It is a complex issue that needs the advice of a physician who knows the chemistry. ...Read more

No changes: You have high, but not abnormally or dangerously high levels. I wouldn't change anything. That being said, if you are taking B12 supplements without the care of a doctor, i would consider cutting back on them. ...Read more

42yo male, blood test ->higher than normal estradiol levels & GI stool test ->high beta-glucaronidase - what's this mean? Take calcium D glucarate?

Get a consult: Most of this stuff about beta-glucuronidase in the stool comes from "independent medical thinkers" focused on gut flora and isn't mainstream. The scientific papers I've seen come from obscure institutions. And why are you having your estradiol checked? Reference ranges on labs are set so that a few percent of healthies fall outside on either end. I'd get a second, mainstream opinion. ...Read more
