Like all life on planet humans are open systems which keep tearing down their structure & require intake of atoms/molecules from which to rebuild their structure. NO: I get asked this question a lot. I tell patients think about what you're doing exactly: 1. Taking a hormone that can modulate other hormones and is only elevated during pregnancy (un-natural) 2. You're ingesting merely 500 calories, some docs have modified it to 750 calories. But still too low for any person. It works as an immediate, fast tool for weight loss but not for good! ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
Testosterone Boosters pills sold in supplement stores, will it increase free testosterone for a 30 year male who lifts weights 4 times a week?
Low testosterone?: I agree that only testosterone will significantly raise levels, and that the exercise is more likely to have an effect than the booster pills. Please note also: Some medical societies recommend testosterone only for low blood levels w certain symptoms (eg thin bones, fatigue, breast tissue). Low testosterone in a young man can be a pituitary or testis problem, & should be evaluated by a doc. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Pt is prescribed testosterone pellets for low t, uses as directed, and tests at 3.77:1 test-epi. Anything unlikely/fishy there re:athletic doping?
Probably not . . .: Check out http://www.Webmd.Com/fitness-exercise/features/steroid-doping-questions-answers. Wada considers 4:1 as maximum to be normal so 3.77:1 is normal whereas 11:1 as in article would be consistent w/using performance enhancing drug eg anabolic steroid. However, that doesn't make t pellet legal for competition, just that someone got lucky at that test. ...Read more

HCGdiet looks unsafe: The HCG diet has a person eating 500 calories a day for more than a month. That's just one big slice of pizza a day. A 4-month old baby eats 500 calories a day. Anybody on 500 calories a day is on a starvation diet and will lose weight. It doesn't sound safe. Extremely low calorie diets don't work because the weight comes back when one starts eating again. Long-term lifestyle changes are needed. ...Read more
Can(not will) doctors prescribe HCG for boosting low T in male, and can insurances cover HCG? (in general, not asking about any specific insurance)
Hypogonadism: hCG can be prescribed off-label to treat younger men w/documented hypogonadism who want to maintain their fertility. In these circumstances, some insurances may cover hCG cost after much cajoling by prescribing physician but no guarantees. Clomiphene & tamoxifen are also used off-label too for same purpose: stimulate testes to produce more testosterone & sperm. But 1st, find cause of hypogonadism. ...Read more
Low Testosterone ,me: There are several brand name testosterone products available. There are injections which do not provide a smooth level of testosterone. Better are the topicals of which there are many. Cheapest is in the form of a cream or gel which can be compiled by your local pharmacy on your doctors prescription. The brand products are much more expensive and arguably no better. ...Read more

Test cypionate: Most hrt experts prescribe testosterone cypionate because of its 5-8 day half-life. Weekly injections can provide the best chance of stable, reliable serum levels.
