Hcg Beta Levels In Early Pregnancy
If your hCG beta levels are doubling an an early pregnancy, do you still have a chance of having an ectopic pregnancy?
Very premature is a condition in which a baby is delivered between 28 and 31 weeks' gestation. Depending on how premature, how sick, and how lucky or unlucky a baby is, he can get brain problems, cerebral palsy, blindness, deafness, developmental problems, learning disabilities, severe lung diseases, infection and loss of some intestines, etc... Babies who are only moderately premature usually ...Read more
Varies: Hcg levels vary by week and even by day. See this site for more info. Http://www. Americanpregnancy. Org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels. Html.
My HCG at 5w5d (evening) was 22, 000. I am concerned that this indicates down syndrome. Are high HCG levels in early pregnancy an indicator of DS?
Definitely not: This does not mean Downs, nothing suggests Down's at 5 weeks. The 22, 000 is pretty normal. Good wishes.
How high?: A blood test will come back "high" for HCG in any woman who is pregnant. Anything positive gets coded as "high" by the lab. Very high levels may be caused by multiple gestations (twins), abnormal pregnancy, or just be a variation of normal.
50% up every 2 days: Most healthy early pregnancies have a HCG level that rises by at least 50% every 2 days - it's often faster than this and it may double or nearly double every 2 days. It depends how far along you are too - no hormone can go up exponentially forever and HCG peaks at around 10 weeks.
Yes.: Very high hcg. Levels can indicate an atypical pregnancy such a what is called a molar pregnancy. Strict follow up with your OB is important.
Commonly available over the counter in the United States.
Frequently performed in hospitals and clnics.
You're pregnant: As the pregnancy grows the HCG levels increase - this is normal
Probably normal: Their is a large range of normal levels for HCG during early pregnancy. A single measurement is not always helpful. If the level were repeated then more could be determined by the change from the first to the second. Check with your health care provider for follow up.
I went for a beta hCG when I was 4 weeks 4 days and my level was 128. Is that low is it still possible to have a normal pregnancy?
HCG: That seems very low for a normal pregnancy, but you can't tell much from one measurement. Normally you would get two more tests, each 2-3 days apart to determine whether your pregnancy is ok. The HCG level should about double every 2 days. If it doesn't, it is a miscarriage. There would be nothing you could do to change this or improve it unfortunately.
Beta hCG level still going up, but not doubled after 7 days. 12/24/12-2500, 12/26/11-3100 6 weeks 1 day gest, 01/02/13-4500. Non-viable pregnancy?
Probably: This type of pattern can be consistent with a non-viable pregnancy, but you should see your OB clinician in order to make a diagnosis and to make sure you do not have an ectopic pregnancy, which can be life-threatening.
Ok: Most ivf clinics only measure HCG levels approximately 9 days after a day 5 embryo transfer. However, some clinics feel that the combination of HCG levels and Progesterone levels have a more predictive value of a good pregnancy than HCG levels alone. Personally, we only measure hcg. Hope this helps and good luck.
Wide range: Beta HCG in twin pregnancies is normally elevated above the level of singleton pregnancies, but has a wide range. At 9-10 weeks the levels should be around 250, 000 to 400, 000, however, the trending may be as important in the evaluation. Twin pregnancy is considered high risk and should have regular visits with ob.
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
