Usually such wounds look much worse than they are in reality. Rinse your mouth with worm salt water 3 X per day. OTC pain relievers such as Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Advil will help to control discomfort. Keep a good oral hygiene. It will take about 2 weeks to heal. Do not hesitate to see your dentist if the wound does not seem to be healing well or it takes more than 2 weeks. Good luck.
Is it normal for the hard palate to be paleish whitish in color. I just looked at it and noticed that it was last night, but it may have been this way?
