A painful hard lump on the upper thigh, calves rash following. What should it be?

Painful lump

A painful hard lump in the thigh area is likely to be either a 'boil' (usually reddish/purplish in color), or a growing cyst (cysts, however, are not usually as tender as boils. The spreading rash to the calves is hard to explain and may represent a second problem.

I have a small hard lump on my outer upper thigh that is close to the muscle/bone. It seemed to appear after excersizing. Has not grown in 3 weeks.

Check with your doc

Bones
better be safe. Should be checked although it is most likely nothing to worry about.

Are the lumps in my legs fatty tumors or what? I have several lumps/bumps under the skin around my upper thigh area. One is near my panty line, it is about the size of the tip of my thumb and hard but does not hurt. It's been there probably 8 or 9 years

Fatty

Fatty tumors (or lipomas) are usually not hard. They are usually soft and squishy. If you have a hard mass along your lower panty line that could be a chronically inflammed inguinal lymph node. Can't determine what they are through this venu. Recommend that a family doctor or dermatologist examine you and determine what the lesions are.

Especially if this is new or changing in size or shows signs of infection, you should be seen right away. it could be a number of things from a benign lipoma to a severe infection to a developing cancer,
