I'm a 16 year old male and ive discovered a small lump on the left side of my hip, it is firm, but not painful, what could it be?

Possible scar tissue: A firm, non-tender lump is most likely the result of a small impact injury that caused bruising and possible bleeding in the muscle and has resulted in scar tissue. This should remain the same size or shrink with time, but if it enlarges, it needs evaluation. If the lump is very small and seems to be at the skin level, is is most likely a benign cyst, and can also be watched. ...Read more

One typically gets some bleeding into that bursa which can become distended, hence firm lumpy and painful. Rest, use ice and avoid activities for 36-48 hours. If you begin having sharp groin pain, get an xrayi ...Read more

Likely Benign: Most likely what you have noticed is something called a lipoma. These are usually harmless but it is impossible to tell you without actually examining you. If you notice it enlarging I would get it checked sooner than later.
