Hard Knot In Neck
I have a hard knot at the base of my neck/top of my back with pain in that area of my back regularly. What could this be?
My neck has been really sore for the last 3 days, When I look down it hurts the most the pain feels like I have a hard knot on either side of my neck.
Neck anatomy: Other than lipoma, this could also be just normal anatomy -- at the base of the neck, the c7 and t1 spinous processes are much longer than the spinous processes above them, which results in a "bump" at the cervicothoracic junction which is actually normal. Nothing needs to be done about that.See 1 more doctor answer

What do you see in xrays and what is making my neck and head hurt so bad and why all the hard swollen knots that don't move? I feel pressure

I got a knot on back of my neck about an inch long and dark in color it burns when I turn neck to the right same side it is on I was in the hospital about 3 years ago and they said my arteres are block 45% could this be a clot I am poor so it hard to get
It: It is hard for me to know what that area could be, but I do think it should be evaluated, especially as it sounds like you have a complicated medical history. An area of pain and burning on your neck that is dark in color should be evaluated by a physician. If you have pain, fever, any weakness or numbness, then you would need to be seen as an emergency.
There's a hard painful lump right under/against the center of my left clavical. I also found 2 pea sized non painful knots above left clavical by neck?
See a doctor!: Lumps or masses are usually benign, however hard painful lumps are not normal regardless of age and need to be evaluated by a doctor. Additional testing may be needed such as an MRI. The non-painful lumps also need to be evaluated. They may be swollen lymph nodes or something else concerning.See 1 more doctor answer
I have pressure in my neck and heaviness that generates up the back of my head and down my spine. I have to hard knots that don't move on both clavicl?
I have a hard lump like knot on the back of my neck. Maybe even on the spine. Had small knot there for years but never hurt. Sore to even touch now?
Infected cyst??: Sounds like you might have had a sebaceous cyst which got infected, hence it is harder and tender now. These are benign swellings in the skin occurring near a hair. See your doc/surgeon about it for proper DX and treatment.
Get it checked: Any growth or lump that you have must be checked by a physician to assess its size and its possible cause. After a physical exam, the doctor may order an imaging study (X-Ray or Ultrasound) in order to find out the cause and extent of the tumor. A biopsy is sometimes necessary if the doctor suspects Cancer as opposed to infection as the cause (Infection causing it makes it tender to touch)
I have a small swelling on the right side of my neck near the carotid artery and I have already had one stroke and surgery. It's not a hard knot?
Go see ur Family Doc: That small swelling on side of your neck could be caused by infection, swollen gland, cancer, scar, reaction to suture material, etc. Bottom line, rather than speculate, go see your Family Doc for examination. Also work w/your doc to optimize stroke risk factors, eg atrial fibrillation, blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar etc, to prevent 2nd one. And learn FAST acronym: http://goo. Gl/2Q7GKE

What would cause swollen neck nodes, some in deep cervical and groin are hard and fixed, hard knot to left of belly button with pulse, knot in lrq?
Enlarged lymph: Nodes can be caused by infection, inflammatory conditions, or malignancy--many different causes. If these masses are truly lymph nodes and are hard and fixed as you describe them, they sound like real problems. You should be seen by a doctor immediately.
Hard slow growing painless knot in back side of neck for 1 yr. I get a drumming /clicking sound in my ears often, never had before. Headaches age 31?
Get checked: Any neck mass requires a good evaluation to rule out malignancy.
Had GP and ENT look at this pea sized hard lump in the side of my neck. One says node one says knot. Been there 3 months. Good cbc. No tests, concern?
Lymph node: If the general practitioner or the otolaryngologist think that this is a lymph node, and it is FIRM and has been present for 3 months, I would recommend that you have it biopsied. Pea sized is on the small side for a lymph node, however. You should ask the ENT physician directly "should this be biopsied, " and if he or she thinks not, ask them to provide a rationale (they may have a good one)

When I lie down on my back, it feels like something pressing on my throat, choking me. Feel front of throat, large hard knot. Ideas, cause?
See a doctor: Unclear by history, but depending on where the lump is, it may be an enlarged thyroid (if at bottom of neck). Could be any number of things, possibly concerning in light of size of mass and firmness, especially if you smoke. If your neck was fused, a pressure sensation in the throat is very common, and you could have some fibrosis / scarring (small price to pay for healthier spine).
I have a tiny, hard knot on the bottom of my throat that feels stuck to something inside. It's been there years. It's sore a bit. Sound benign?
Knot: Ifs its on your neck, it could be the thyroid or a skin cyst. If its inside your throat it could be many things including cysts and acid reflux. Check it out with an ENT
