A cyst is a structure or mass that consists of a cellular lined sac. It is typically filled with fluid but may be filled with solid material. It can be congenital, traumatic, or acquired. Had an abscess drained from my armpit on 7/20. I still have a hard lump and painful. Could it still be an abscess there or cyst?
Residual disease: Well that should be re-examined by the doctor who cut into it. If it was a surgeon, I expect they will do a proper job in re-exploring the area and taking the necessary action. It's possible the abscess arose from an infected cyst, or there could be some undrained portion that wasn't reached in the first procedure. Hopefully you can go back ASAP to get that looked at. ...Read more
How do I get rid of an armpit cyst that's the size of an eyeball? Its big, blood is coming out, its hard and it really hurts!
Small, not quite pea size hard lump underneath right armpit. Does not hurt, does not form visible bump, no color. Had over a year. Cyst, ingrown hair?
Probably a cyst: Cysts are small, firm bumps under the skin that are filled with keratin. When squeezed, some will produce the keratin which is white, cheesy and sometimes stinky. If it is not causing problems or growing, we tend to leave them alone, but it is important for your doctor to confirm the diagnosis. Sometimes, if it is not clearly a cyst, we can biopsy the spot to be sure. ...Read more

What is a cyst exactly? I'm not sure that's what this is but it's under my skin in underarm area of right arm, it's hard and pea size
Cyst is discrete sac: A cyst is a discrete sac-like structure with a membrane around it that separates it from other nearby tissue. Most cysts are not dangerous and can be safely observed. However, if they seem to be growing, are painful or result in bleeding, they should be examined by a surgeon for excision. Once excised, a pathologist will examine it to determine if it is dangerous. Your cyst may be a lymph node. ...Read more

Leave it alone: As you have listed hidradenitis suppurativa as one of your medical conditions, I would make an educated guess that the lump you feel is related to that. This condition is known for the growth and presence of many kinds of benign cysts and sometimes abscesses. Sometimes the cysts can get infected and incision and drainage is needed. Otherwise there is no consistent treatment, but no need to worry. ...Read more
I have a armpit cyst and when I pulled back my arm it came out. What should I do to prevent armpit cysts?
No preventing: Cyst is skin folded inside out--what normally sloughs off is now collected within the walls of the cyst. It clinically looks like a bump under the skin. It often has a follicular opening, thru which the cyst content can drain. However, it will recur even after you squeeze out the content because the cyst wall is still present. The only way to really get rid of it is by excising the cyst wall. ...Read more
I've been getting these cyst like bumps on my inner thighs and deep in my armpits, how do you prevent more boils/cysts?
I have found a bump in my armpits last. Night it is not too big and it does not swelling. Is this some kind of cyst or cancer?
Got a very painful, bump/cyst-like thing in my armpit. Can see a bit of redness, less than size of dime. What could it be & how do I treat? Hurts!
Cause for such lump in armpit is a plugges SEBACEOUS CYST. This may require opening and drainage by a surgeon (although most family physicians perfrom such surgery) In the meantime HOT WET PACKS (or lying back in a hot tub) may encourage opening and draining "on its own".
Hope this helps!
