Hard Calcified Lumps Under Skin
Ultrasound of breast didn't show lumps but instead calcification spots not in skin. Inconclusive, how worried should I be?
Breast calcification: Calcifications in the breast tissue are seen frequently on mammography. The important distinction is whether they are clustered close together or spread out randomly in the breast tissue. Sometimes a better image is obtained by magnification views on mammogram, and if there is any suspicion of something serious then MRI would be good to do. A physical exam of the breasts is also important. ...Read more
I have a hard lump on top of my shoulder that is painful when touched. No fall, no injury. Doc thinks it 's calcification, but could it be sarcoma?
Small hard lump deep within neck for two months. Ultrasound results say "No visible mass. There is shadowing 5 mm calcification in the deep soft tissue of the left posterior neck, seems to correspond to a palpable lump".
Feeling scared about this?
Great that you had it checked. Did you have any sort of prior injury to that spot? Even acne can leave a calcification behind after it heals. Did the radiologist recommend repeating the sonogram in 6-12 months? Might help to see if there is a change over time.
Don't worry, but do recheck it. ...Read more

If : If the scalp moves freely over these lumps, and they feel hard like bone, they are likely to be osteomas which are benign and don't typically need treatment unless symptomatic. In some rare cases, they may be related to a systemic disorder (such as gardner's syndrome associated with colonic polyps). My best recommendation is have someone check these out to make a proper diagnosis and hopefully reassure you there is nothing to worry about. ...Read more
