What does a cancer-related armpit lump feel like?

Like a lump: I am not trying to be funny but often you cannot tell malignant vs. Non-malignant masses. Inflammed nodes are sometimes tender but don't depend on that. If you have palpable masses under the armpit, have 'em checked. Best to you. ...Read more

Under armpit lump and chills what checkup should I do without making it obvious to my mom that I think I might have cancer. do I have cancer? im 18

Less Likely: I think you should speak to your MOm right away and let her know what is happening to you. There are many other causes of a swollen lymph node in the arm pit (axilla) including and infection that needs treatment with an antibiotic. The less likely cause is a "cancer". Need to examine: If is not feasible to know what you are feeling. You may be feeling a rib rather than a mass in the breast. It would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Glad you're a good observer of your body. ...Read more

Sore armpit: If that persists and if you are worried- go to see your gp to have a good exams. It could be from different causes- including -muskuloskeletal pain, or perhaps inflammation from the sweat glands- then causing reactive lymph node irritation that is located deep inside, vs other inflammation etc. Since you are 57 years old-if you have not updated your mammogram this year-then you should get one. ...Read more
