I am dialysis patient. Doing since last 6 years. I had line in my neck n when they remove it got clot. Caz of that my fistula hand is swelled.
Venous Hypertension: The fistula causes increase blood flow through the veins draining the arm. If the veins are blocked or narrowed (both possible because of long term dialysis catheter) the increased pressure causes more fluid to collect in the arm and cause swelling. Unclear: If you are waking up with swollen hands and feet every am and this is something new for you then you should probably get evaluated for some underlying cause. Kidney disease or nephrotic syndrome could be a possible cause as well as congestive heart failure. But see your doctor to see if this is the issue. Carpal Tunnel?: This sounds like carpal tunnel syndrome which is a pinched nerve in the wrist that can cause numbness, tingling, pain and burning in the fingers. Try using a wrist brace when you sleep, this keeps the wrist straight and takes the pressure off the nerve. Hand: It sounds like you compromised at least the nerves in the hand, more likely median but could be radial or ulnar depending on what weakness you have. Also possible you compromised the blood flow away from the hand causing swelling. ...Read more
