Doctor insights on:
Unclear: If you are waking up with swollen hands and feet every am and this is something new for you then you should probably get evaluated for some underlying cause. Kidney disease or nephrotic syndrome could be a possible cause as well as congestive heart failure. But see your doctor to see if this is the issue. Could also be related to too much sodium or a hypernatremia effect or even an autoimmune dx.
Can be circulation.: This can be due to circulation difficulty, or it might be a symptom of hypothyroidism or vasculitis. There are vasospastic disorders, like raynaud's phenominon, that are triggered by cold exposure, with blanching, cyanosis, and redness, so the extremities must be kept warm. It would be a good idea to keep your feet warm anyway. It would be wise at this point to see your doctor and get tested.
Mostly annoying: It could represent reynaud's phenomonon where blood flow gets reduced in the cold dramatically. If mild, it is annoying. In the most severe cases, especially when exposed to severe cold, the lack of blood flow could actually cause damage to tips of fingers, and toes, but this is with the worst cases and the worst cold. Most of the time, just having cold hands is just that and warm gloves help.See 2 more doctor answers
I've had lots of very tiny watts on the backs of my hands & feet for as long as I can remember. How do I treat them ?
Warts: There are more than 100 types of HPV (human papilloma virus), the virus that causes warts..most are harmless. Common warts have a rough, grainy, grayish appearance with a rounded top. Home treatments include freezing with liquid nitrogen (available at drug stores), application of salicylic acid and duct tape: cover with small piece for several days, then soak, rub off! A dermatologist offers more.
Hands feet are always freezing! When I take a lukewarm shower my feet feel like they are on fire. Left side is always Colder than right side?
Cold feet: Your issues could represent something called Raynaud's phenomena or vascular diseasebbz. Generally with cold feet, signifies a vascular issue but could also be neurological. There are several tests that can check the vascular system as well as a neurological system and you can always get an MRI. I would see the closest neurologist, vascular specialist and/or podiatrist as soon as you can.

Recently have been getting cold hands/feet. Never happened before. Only started after i try to workout 30minutes everyday. Is this normal/healthy?
Rule out: Raynaud's disease. It is a rare disorder of the blood vessels, usually in the fingers and toes. The cause is unknown, but the phenomenon is a problem with blood flow. Because the body limits blood flow to the hands and feet, it makes the fingers or toes feel cold and numb. Rec.: see your pcp for further investigation.
When laying/sitting down my hands/feet get ice cold. But go back to normal if I cover them. They r fine though outside in cold. House is 66-68 deg.?
Incr temp & activity: Without seeing you and doing a physical exam and without having your vital signs it is very hard to make an assessment about your cold extremities at home. The most common reasons would be a cold environment (home) and lack of physical activity. The best way to test this out would be by doing 10 laps around the living room, wearing warmer clothes (gloves/socks), or simply turning up temp inside.See 1 more doctor answer
When the whether is cold outside my hands feet and head begin to get hot and those body parts begin to itch and swell. What is this and what can I do?
Cold urticaria: I have seen this response to heat, and there is something similar that occurs in the cold known as cold allergy. You can have it tested for and confirmed by an allergist. Here is a wikipedia article: http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/cold_urticaria.
Normal in newborns: Newborns will have purle hands and feet and around the mouth can be a little purple. Truly purple lips and mouth need to be evaluated. Acrocyanosis is the technical name ofr the purple hands and feet and it improves with time.
Vitamin B12: Burning in the hands and feet is usually caused by nerve irrational or nerve injury. A common cause is peripheral neuropathy. There have been over a hundred different causes of neuropathy established with diabetes the most common. You may need to see a doctor for a diagnosis. Good medical studies show that vitamin b 12 taken under the tongue can be helpful taking 2500 mcg once a day.
Raynaud's Phenomenon: Raynaud's phenomenon results from an exaggerated blood vessel constriction in response to cold temperatures. Usually associated with a hand discoloration. Could be related common connective tissue disorders. Other rare conditions can cause a painful response to cold mediated by immunoglobulin production due to inflammation (cryoglobulin and cold agglutinins). Check with your physician.
