Why my hands & feets are swollen every morning?

Why my hands & feets are swollen every morning?

Unclear: If you are waking up with swollen hands and feet every am and this is something new for you then you should probably get evaluated for some underlying cause. Kidney disease or nephrotic syndrome could be a possible cause as well as congestive heart failure. But see your doctor to see if this is the issue. Could also be related to too much sodium or a hypernatremia effect or even an autoimmune dx.

What does it mean when your hands feet are always cold?

What does it mean when your hands feet are always cold?

Can be circulation.: This can be due to circulation difficulty, or it might be a symptom of hypothyroidism or vasculitis. There are vasospastic disorders, like raynaud's phenominon, that are triggered by cold exposure, with blanching, cyanosis, and redness, so the extremities must be kept warm. It would be a good idea to keep your feet warm anyway. It would be wise at this point to see your doctor and get tested.

Is it actually harmful to have cold hands/feet, or just annoying?

Is it actually harmful to have cold hands/feet, or just annoying?

Mostly annoying: It could represent reynaud's phenomonon where blood flow gets reduced in the cold dramatically. If mild, it is annoying. In the most severe cases, especially when exposed to severe cold, the lack of blood flow could actually cause damage to tips of fingers, and toes, but this is with the worst cases and the worst cold. Most of the time, just having cold hands is just that and warm gloves help.

Warts: There are more than 100 types of HPV (human papilloma virus), the virus that causes warts..most are harmless. Common warts have a rough, grainy, grayish appearance with a rounded top. Home treatments include freezing with liquid nitrogen (available at drug stores), application of salicylic acid and duct tape: cover with small piece for several days, then soak, rub off! A dermatologist offers more.

Cold feet: Your issues could represent something called Raynaud's phenomena or vascular diseasebbz. Generally with cold feet, signifies a vascular issue but could also be neurological. There are several tests that can check the vascular system as well as a neurological system and you can always get an MRI. I would see the closest neurologist, vascular specialist and/or podiatrist as soon as you can.

Rule out: Raynaud's disease. It is a rare disorder of the blood vessels, usually in the fingers and toes. The cause is unknown, but the phenomenon is a problem with blood flow. Because the body limits blood flow to the hands and feet, it makes the fingers or toes feel cold and numb. Rec.: see your pcp for further investigation.

Incr temp & activity: Without seeing you and doing a physical exam and without having your vital signs it is very hard to make an assessment about your cold extremities at home. The most common reasons would be a cold environment (home) and lack of physical activity. The best way to test this out would be by doing 10 laps around the living room, wearing warmer clothes (gloves/socks), or simply turning up temp inside.
