Why are some people left handed & why are some people right handed? What determines it? And is it true that left handed people are smarter & powerful?

Why are some people left handed & why are some people right handed? What determines it? And is it true that left handed people are smarter & powerful?

No, the same: Genetics are the most likely explanation for handedness. And, not left-handed people are neither smarter nor more powerful than right=-handed people. ...Read more

When will I know if my baby is right or left-handed?

When will I know if my baby is right or left-handed?

Be patient: Although some researchers suggest an infant may use one hand more than another as early as 6m, most describe true hand dominance as emerging between 2 & 4 yrs. I worry when a child uses one hand more often before a year as it can be an emerging sign of a motor impairment as seen in cerebral palsy. ...Read more

What are reasons why are fewer people left handed?

What are reasons why are fewer people left handed?

Genetics: Read this article, it explains it well. Thank you for a very good question. Why Are Some People Left-Handed? Is it normal for a right handed person to have left eyesight weaker than the right side?

Is it normal for a right handed person to have left eyesight weaker than the right side?

Not related: I would not think that your eyesight has anything to do with your handedness. The lens has changed in such a way that the vision is not as good on the left-hand side but not related to whether your right-handed or not. ...Read more

How long would it take to switch from being right-handed to left-handed?

Left handed nature: At one time children would be forced to switch from left handedness to right handedness through persistent exercises and use of the right hand rather than the left. Since the left handedness arises from one's neurologic makeup, it will always be dominant, but one can learn right handed uses through persistence and exercise. To my knowledge, one is not really converted to the right handed nature. ...Read more

If I was born left handed and was left handed dominated ans then became right handed dominated would it mess up my body when using cell phones ?

If I was born left handed and was left handed dominated ans then became right handed dominated would it mess up my body when using cell phones ?

Question confusing: Handedness is generally considered a prewired process in most, with right hand dominant most common. There are many left hand dominent folks, and some where no true dominance exists. (called ambidexterous). If your question is whether a cell phone triggered the change, i'd have to speculate no! someone prewired to do well with both may gravitate to right to fit in or it fits with your activities. ...Read more
