I have a partial torn hamstring(right leg). A bruise appears at the gluteous fold and area behind the kneecap. What? Concern?

Broken blood vessel: Bruising in both areas may be from the same source of bleeding. Will likely resolve, but compartment syndrome is a concern, ie, swelling to the point that nerves are squeezed. If yes, then you are at increased risk of bleeding from any injury. If you are concerned about a blood clot, you should see your Dr. who could do an ultrasound on the leg to check for it. ...Read more

Contusion on my lower leg keeps spreading .. What can I do?

Be patient: A contusion, or bruise, will initially spread as the blood from the injury travels underneath the skin. Eventually, this will stop, and the body will resorb the blood, although it can take several weeks or even months. There is not much you can do to stop the spreading, but it is not serious. If you are having pain, ice and over-the-counter analgesics are helpful. ...Read more
