If there is a : Chance it is infected then you most definately should see a doctor as you may need to be talking an oral antibiotic and if there is residual infection there could possibly be an abcess which would necessitate incison and drainage of the abcess. ...Read more

On diuretic, if become moderately dehydrated big toes get red/swollen from tip to and including base joint. Is this gout?

See your doctor: This is something you need to be seen in person about. Gout is definitely a possibility, but there is a whole list of things this could be. I would elevate it, take some NSAIDs if you have no reason that you can't. Call your PCP to be seen today. you may need some X-rays and blood work done to see whats going on and also a referral to a rheumatologist or hand surgeon. ...Read more

Only 200mg of sodium today. Both feet toes are swollen. Severe pain in big toes and toe joints. Crying. Inside both feet hurts and when bending toes. Told too young for gout but have all symptoms.

May still be gout: This could still be gout or another crystal induced arthritis. In order to tell you will need to see a doctor who can take fluid out of the toe when it is swollen and check it under a microscope. There are also many other types of arthritis and some non arthritis diseases which can affect someone your age and cause toe swelling.
