Yes: Ginger has some "blood thinning" effects, but very unlikely to be clinically significant (lead to bleeding) when consumed as part of a normal diet. The high potency supplements may be associated with a bleeding risk, but not statistically proven. For patient's on Lovenox (enoxaparin) & heparin, ginger may be consumed as part of a normal diet. Enjoy.
You can eat greens: While on Lovenox (enoxaparin) you can eat as is your usual diet. Contrary to warfarin, Lovenox (enoxaparin) is not affected by eating food that is rich in vitamin K. Although you can eat greens with warfarin as well, management of therapeutic target is difficult, because of fluctuation in peoples intake of vitamin K rich foods.See 1 more doctor answer
Not a good idea: The combination can lead to serious bleedeing and should be avoided.
Not too strenuous: It all depends how hard you are going to exert yourself. The danger is pulling a muscle that would normally just cause a bruise, but while on Lovenox (enoxaparin) could cause a major bleed within your extremity-- severe enough that could require an emergency operation. It all depends on what you are used to lifting, so there is no precise weight limit.
See below: It can be taken long term if indicatedd. Why do you need to be on it long term?
Lovenox (enoxaparin) & bones: Yes, long-term use of Lovenox (enoxaparin) over many months is known to cause bone loss. If this is a concern, a different anticoagulant shot known as Arixtra can be considered. Additionally, there are new oral anticoagulants such as xarelto that can be considered as well.
