Systemic problem?: be sure not using any medications or herbs/spices or strong odor foods that could be coming out as smells on the scalp. have a dermatologist look at it and get blood work to be sure all vitamins/minerals and thyroid ok. very unusual that it is not other parts of the body , only the scalp if systemic so see a dermatologist ...Read more

Possible herpes: Ingrown hairs, esp if you shave, are quite common, but they are usually solitary, and dermatitis not recurrent. A cluster of pimples with clear fluid sounds suspicious for herpes, which could be either type 1 or 2.
