Hair Parting Balding
I'm 24 years old. I'm losing hair on the top of my head. I have a balding parting line. How do I regrow hair and stop it from falling?
Depends on the cause: There are various reasons for losing hair, also called alopecia. So the treatment depends entirely on the treatment of the cause.
Hair loss, otherwise known as alopecia, can be caused by different reasons, including damage to the hair shaft or follicles or fungal infections. There are two main types of alopecia. Alopecia areata occurs when the body's immune system attacks hair follicles and causes hair to fall out. Androgenetic (or androgenic) alopecia, on the other hand, is an inherited form of hair loss. With alopecia areata, hair can fall out in patches all over the body. With androgenetic alopecia, hair on the head first thins and then falls out. In men, this is called male pattern hair loss; in women, it is called ...Read more
Bald spot due to hair dresser leaving bleach on too long. I cover it up by parting my hair. How to get hair to grow in that area???
It: Will grow back,,,, be patient. You are "injuring" your hair every time you bleach it! Think about changing the coloring process OR your Hairdresser! Just my opinion Hope it's helpful Dr Z
Never: Balding or male pattern baldness is a progressive physiologic change that occurs to varying degrees as men age. It's an inherited trait that effects people differently. If you suffer from hair loss, topical and oral medications exist to help maintain the hair you have and transplantation procedures exist to reposition and mask the bothersome hair loss areas.See 1 more doctor answer
Male Pattern: With the advent of 5-alpha-reductace inhibitors such as Propecia and the evolution of surgical hair restoration, living with noticeable hair loss is no longer inevitable. Rogaine (minoxidil) for men is also effective in combination or alone. For the first time in the history it is now possible to stop or slow the progression of hair loss and to replace lost hair through hair transplants.See 1 more doctor answer
Sometimes: It depends on the cause of the hair loss. If you had an infection, the hair should grow back after the infection is gone. If the hair has not been returning, you should see your doctor. There are some forms of hair loss which can last for long periods of time.
Get a dermatologist: Best opinion if in unison with endocrinologist. Hormone studies important.

Both: Hair loss is a complicated process but both conditions can occur simultaneously or independently
I want to stop/regrow my hair. While I am waiting for my hair to regrow, can I use xfusion to cover up balding?
Sure: While you're working on looking great, why not get back into that fitness-focused lifestyle you had as a teen? Remember how much fun it was? Once you've reconnected with this side of yourself, you may even decide it doesn't matter where you do or don't have hair, and embrace your genetics and total masculinity. Best wishes.

Hair Loss vs. Shaved: Yes, if bald from shaving the head. Regrowth is as fast as growth before shaving. No, if bald from hair loss. Pattern baldness is the most common cause of hair loss and is usually inherited (it's in the genes). In men, it is called male pattern baldness or androgenic alopecia. In women, it is called female pattern baldness. Women get some hair loss from the whole scalp, so the hair looks thinner.
