I think you need to continue treatment to manage symptoms until this reaction works it's way out of your system. Are/were you using oral glucocorticosteroids (Prednisone, Medrol) as well as massaging a topical steroid lotion in the scalp? There may also be a superimposed infection that needs to be treated.
