Went grocery shopping. Carried many light groceries in my arms against my chest. Middle chest got hurt and still has some pain. What's the problem? Heart?

Chest pain, arm numbness, doctor did a physical and took BP and pulse. He said it's most likely a nerve pinch because my heart sounds well...

? other tests?: At 18 you are at low risk for a heart problem but I have seen pericarditis in younger kids with similar symptoms. An ekg and/or cardiac enzymes would rule out most issues that combine arm numbness with chest pain. Without the arm numbness I would consider heartburn/reflux more likely. However having a more extensive history with timing/duration/activities & exam would allow a more thorough answer. ...Read more

If this is a chronic problem then you need a more involved workup including musculoskeletal and neurological studies. ...Read more

No chest pain, left arm tingly, jaw hurts a little after 20 min of cardio. Can it be my neuropathy? Or cannot be something else? Heart test all good

Maybe: My question would be what are you doing with your arm and jaw while exercising? Using arms (perhaps elliptical, ergometer, or rowing machine) may bring out tingling. Also hyperventilation (would expect both hands). Clenching jaw, or jarring from running, may bring out jaw pain. If you have already been tested for heart problems and don't have any big risk factors, I would recommend analgesics. ...Read more
