Hacking Cough With Pain In The Top Area Of My Right Lung
2yr old has dry hacking cough, since november. Dr confirmed lungs clear. The same thing happens each year in winter. Would a humidifier help?
Yes: It sounds like your child has an irritated respiratory tract. It 's great the lungs are clear. A vaporizer or humidifier often helps in winter months when the humidity is low. Also, you may want to try a dose of Diphenhydramine at bedtime (like benadryl). If the cough continues or worsens, check back with your doctor. ...Read more
Deoxygenated blood enters the lungs from the right side of the heart and travels to the lungs. When you inspire, oxygen flows into the lungs, transverses the capilliares and attaches to hemoglobin down a gradient. At the same time, co2 diffuses into the capilaries and is expelled with exhalation. Oxygen rich blood then flows to the left side of the heart and into the ...Read more

Diagnosed with acute bronchitis & on antibiotics for 48 hrs. Still have low fever, hacking cough with chest pains when coughing. Should I be concerned?
Finished week course of levaquin. Symptoms remain and now vomiting with diarrhea. Still hacking cough, chest stuff, bad throat. Flu or? Need Dr?
There are several possible causes for your symptoms. The antibiotic that you took is a broad spectrum antibiotic which should cover most bacterial causes. If you have a fever despite treatment and a productive cough, you may need a chest radiograph.
I would suggest seeing your PCP to discuss a throat swab and further evaluation. Did you receive a flu vaccine this year? ...Read more
UTI or kidney infection? I have foul smelling urine, urgency and frequent urination, nausea, headache, chest congestion, hacking cough.
Sinus infection twice followed by sneezing, runny nose chest pain swollen glands, hacking cough with thick green, white, dark yellow mucus. Cold?
Probably sinus: Your history suggests that you may be suffering from nasal congestion (most likely from allergies) leading to obstruction of the sinus drainage and then infection. Controlling the nasal congestion would be the first step (visit an allergist?). Later on a CT sinus and/or immune work-up may be pursued if indicated. ...Read more

Cough + basal crackles in right lung. Is this the same as congestion? Please list causes? Thanks.
I am weezing in my right lung only but when I cough I can clear out the mucus. Then is clogs again and I weez. Any idea?
See doctor...: You need your doctor to examine you to be certain that you are only wheezing on one side since sometimes the wheeze may be more prominent on one side but there is wheezing in both lungs. If you truly have a one-sided wheeze, that indicates obstruction in that lung and you would need a bronchoscopy to determine what is obstructing the airway like a mucous plug, foreign body, tumor, etc. Good luck! ...Read more

There can be complications of pneumonia such as empyema, or a consolidation of the infection. ...Read more
Pain right lung and back with slight dry cough for 2 months. Had bloods & x-ray. All fine. Docs not too concerned. I am extremely worried lung cancer?
Further evaluation: If you are a smoker further evaluation with a ct scan of the chest may be indicated; you should also consider asking your physician for referral to a pulmonary specialist for evaluation of the persistent cough. Hi Doctor, I have pain in my lower right lung since last 6 months. I am non smoker. Breathing is fine. No blood in cough. Is this lung cancer?
At 29, not likely: Firstly, you know that you are having pain in the lower right side of your chest. What you don't know is whether that pain is in your lungs. Pain from internal organs may be referred to other places - like gall bladder inflammation may be felt as pain the right shoulder. Am more concerned about your fears of cancer than any real risk. See your doctor for assessment and perhaps counseling. ...Read more

Wedge resection right lung 1/15/15. Still have chest tube in due to small air leak. Painful barking cough just started. What is it?
Nonspecific: Could be a normal reaction from the breathing tube you had during the surgery. Could also be an upper respiratory infection.
