I visited Cuba last week of Jan 2016 frm Canada. Was bitten by mosquitoes though no further symptoms. Planning pregnancy now. Any Zika risk/precaution
Probably safe but...: Zika is not yet known to be in Cuba, but no guarantee; the first evidence might not show up for months. Even if you were infected, viremia (virus in blood that can infect a fetus) probably is gone within a couple of weeks. For maximum safety, maybe delay conception another month or so. Excellent info from CDC and WHO: http://www.cdc.gov/zika/index.html/, http://who.int/topics/zika/en/ ...Read more

I'm a girl,my 3yr partner was diagnosed w/ gardnerella vaginalis(not chronic).He's fine now,no STDs,they said I don't need to get tested.Is that ok?
Confusing...: I'd like to help, but Gardnerella is a normal bactera in the vagina. It doesn't infect men and there no is accurate way to diagnose it in men. I wonder if your partner has nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). It's an STD, even though standard STD tests (gonorrhea, chlamyida, etc) are negative. You and he should find a doctor who understands STDs and genital infections. Good luck! ...Read more

Sierra Leone's top Ebola doctor died last week. How do U.S. doctors prevent getting grievously ill from highly contagious patients?
They don't!: The brave men and women who are willing to fight the Ebola virus are amazingly courageous in their work. They are equally susceptible to contract the disease, but work hard to keep the risk low by wearing mask, gloves and down. However they are still at a very high risk. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Hard to say: The irregularity in the structure of your uterus may make pregnancy difficult. I saw a baby last week born to a woman with the same problem, so it does happen. Surgical removal of the septum may be possible if there is an experienced surgeon in your area and that might improve your chances.Talk with your doc. ...Read more
