Gurgling Lung Sounds
Loud gurgling sounds in abdomen, had a small bowel movement and felt incomplete and still loud gurgling and now I'm panicking that something serious!
Not likely. Constant: intestinal muscle waves of contraction, back & forth, called peristalsis, under both brain & local control, is what mixes the ~7 liters/day of water excreted from blood stream into intestines to mix with food into a thin watery soup; the motion both mixing digestive enzymes with/break-down food molecules & constantly changing intestinal wall exposure for selective absorption. Air in water gurgles. ...Read more
Deoxygenated blood enters the lungs from the right side of the heart and travels to the lungs. When you inspire, oxygen flows into the lungs, transverses the capilliares and attaches to hemoglobin down a gradient. At the same time, co2 diffuses into the capilaries and is expelled with exhalation. Oxygen rich blood then flows to the left side of the heart and into the ...Read more
Lung sounds: Hello. These can be many things depending on what's going on with the person. Assuming you are hearing them w/o a stethoscope, then they are likely upper airway secretions/mucous seen with a cold or infection. If localized to one area of the lung could be a sign of pneumonia. If these sounds ate chronic and the person is not acutely ill, could be from chronic obstructive lung disease or fibrosis. ...Read more

Loud wheezing whistle like noise when breathing in ? I'm a smoker no asthma what could it be thanks no chest pain or cough just loud noise
See your PCP: Noisy breathing comes from disruption in the otherwise smooth flow of air in your airway and lungs--like the last bit of milkshake sipped through a straw. Disruptions can be caused by simple mucous or more insidious things. First concerns: narrowed airway from inflammation (asthma?), infection or cancer (after all, you are a smoker) need to be ruled out. See your doc asap to be sure. ...Read more

Acute bronchitis for 3 wks now. Low pitched sounds & bubbling feeling when breathing. Coughing white bubbly phlegm, little bit of green. P. Causes?
Bronchitis: If your bronchitis hasn't resolved after 10 days I recommend that you be examined by your physician to see whether a chest xray is advisable and I also would start a course of antibiotics such as amoxicillin or augmentin. If signs of asthmatic bronchitis are present, addition of an inhaler like advair would be helpful as asthmatic bronchitis can be protracted.I assume you're not smoking. ...Read more

Nasal throat wheeze: I'm sorry that they've been unable to find the reason for your expiratory wheeze. I have been diagnosis w/ bronchitis I hear crackles w exhale can feel crackles w deep inhale. Is this normal of bronchitis could it be pneumonia?
Rales vs. rhonchi: Typically, rales (crackles) are an inspiratory sound heard with a stethescope as small closed airways are opened with increased airflow and are typically more common with pneumonia, effusions or congestive heart failure. Rhonchi and mucous plugs are usually expiratory, and can be 'felt' more, as with bronchitis and asthma (asthma can make the distinction difficult to make). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
