When washing hands how long should you wash your hands 4?

When washing hands how long should you wash your hands 4?

Depends: What are you going to be doing? If you are in your way to do surgery, 5-10 minutes minimum. Also depends on what you are trying to get off your skin. Generally a good soaping of the hands, rinse, resoap and rinse is sufficient.

When washing hands and body my skin get sticky while I'm drying off can you help me?

Human Postage Stamp: This is an interesting problem (and, when the doctor says"interesting, "you know someone is suffering).Very little is known about this"sticky skin"problem. There has been an associations with certain medications but I'll bet it has more to do with the problems necessitating the medications. Think logically:something activates when wet, absent when dry. I suggest you research 'skin mucopolysaccharides'

Is washing hands a common sign of ocd?

Is washing hands a common sign of ocd?

It can be: People with OCD may wash their hands so many times a day that they become raw, sore, and even bleeding. Often the person will fear having touched something they feel is contaminated with some kind of germs. They may not be able to use public restrooms because of this fear. Other compulsions may be checking or counting things. All these can become extremely anguishing -- but there is help.

In small classroom with very sick girl. What can I do (to ensure I don't get sick) apart from steering clear from her and washing hands?

In small classroom with very sick girl. What can I do (to ensure I don't get sick) apart from steering clear from her and washing hands?

You got it: Hand washing remains the single most important means for the spread of infection. Steering clear of her is wise too if she is actively infectious. Some schools have regulations and a truly sick student should be sent to the nurses office and possibly home.

From canada my bf used 2 kleenez not bare hands to pick up dead baby bird and dispose. Than carried in groceries without washing hands. Contamination?

Germs are everywher: Germs are everywhere, I would not expect that the two of you were going to eat off of those grocery bags. With food preparation and refrigeration your bacterial burden is usually reduced significantly. I wouldn't be any more concerned about this, that if you went outside and played in the yard and came in and ate dinner without washing your hands. The normal human body has a great immune system.

If you were to use alcohol gel instead of washing hands, would it be less hygienic?

If you were to use alcohol gel instead of washing hands, would it be less hygienic?

Depends: Nothing beats proper water based handwashing for controlling the spread of infection. However, alcohol gels are easier to use and often more convenient so that in the end both work pretty well.

Is soap free wash good enough to use washing hands in medical setting I am allergic to soap?

No way!: You don't mention what soap you are using. Try a hypoallergenic soap such as unscented dove, oil of olay sensitive skin or vanicream bar. Also lubricate your hands with vaseline (petroleum jelly), vanicream, vaniply or cerave. You may try washing with a "soap less" soap such as lubriderm. If all of this fails, see a dermatologist or allergist/immunologist.

How plausible is it for HPV to be spread through non-sexual or proxy contact (one not washing hands properly someone touching door handle after them)?

How plausible is it for HPV to be spread through non-sexual or proxy contact (one not washing hands properly someone touching door handle after them)?

Not impossible but..: By far, genital hpv is more commonly and more easily transmitted via sex. Plus, certain strains have a higher affinity for certain types of skin cells. Infection requires contact between skin cells and live virus. The virus must attach to cell receptors and get into a cell. Direct contact, microtrauma to skin and high viral load all favor infection. Sex is better than door knobs for transmission.

I have a month and a half old newborn. My boyfriend washes his hands for 10 to 12 seconds after using the bathroom and then holds my newborn. Is this timing good enough for washing hands?

I have a month and a half old newborn. My boyfriend washes his hands for 10 to 12 seconds after using the bathroom and then holds my newborn. Is this timing good enough for washing hands?

Recommendations: Cdc wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Be sure to lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the "happy birthday" song from beginning to end twice. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.

Daughter is in pre-k, constantly coming down with a cold. Will daily vitamins help her be less affected? I know washing hands, etc is very important.

Daughter is in pre-k, constantly coming down with a cold. Will daily vitamins help her be less affected? I know washing hands, etc is very important.

Probably Not, Unless: If she had an explicit vitamin deficiency & the deficient vitamin level (s) were restored, possible. However, bigger issues are more likely human. Child's view key. Leaving home for pre-k & being surrounded by many children & adults she does not know, not sure she can trust, abuse by other children, etc., perceiving being rejected by mother/family, etc. Are all very threatening/challenging issues.
