Shoulder Pain: Sounds like you have ligament instability of the shoulder. The best treatment for this is strengthening exercises. Couple things: One of the major causes of this would be osteoarthritis. Is it painful? I would recommend seeing your doc to for a physical exam, possible pt if it is painful, as well as shoulder exercises. If the surgery was recently, it may be irritated/inflamed from surgery (positioning?) or from certain rehab exercises or overcompensation to protect AC joint. Shoulder strain: It sounds like you may have a pulled muscle or shoulder strain. If pain, can try over the counter Motrin three times daily with food for pain and inflammation for the next few days.
