Diarrhea: I need more information. Did her doctor request a stool culture? If that was done & it showed bacterial infection then you are on the right track. Modifying her diet and keeping her hydrated is very important. I hope she gets better soon. ...Read more

Likley colitis: You may have a simple infectious colitis. if you have more abdominal pain or nause or vomitting, then you may need antibiotics. Otherwise plenty of fluids and symptomatic treatment is enough.

Probably OK, but...: I agree you may not need an antibiotic and likely getting better on your own. Antibiotics are usually given for bronchitis (most "chest infections"), but usually symptoms would clear up on their own, without treatment. Newborns can become ill more easily due to their developing immune systems. I would recommend monitoring for fever, and a follow up with your PCP.

For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
