Gasroenteritis: You probably have a viral gastroenteritis which usually gets better with proper hydration.You have to make sure you are able to retain some fluid otherwise you will get dehydrated.It canbe treated with some prescription antiemetic.If continue to vomit and cant hold anything go to ER,as you may need IV Therapy. If your child gets gastroenteritis (stomach flu), the only thing you can do is try to keep up with the fluid loss. Yes: No oral medicine works if you vomit it up. How long absorption takes varies some with gastric emptying time and when you are having GI issues, this can be prolonged.
