It may: Depending on the underlying cause, it certainly may recur,... for example if you drink a lot of alcohol, or eat a lot of trigger foods that can cause an ulcer or esophagitis, and after treatment, you resume those activities, than it can certainly come back. How sever is grade 1 esophagitis. What risk treatments and how concerned should one be. Using 6 weeks ppi did help little. Would diet control help.

See a GI doc : This is a very specific question, and if you were prescribed Omeprazole for the esophagitis, the prescribing physician should have told you when to retest. In general, it takes several weeks of good anti-acid medication therapy to heal the inflammation, but ask your GI doctor for a more accurate response. I would wait at least 2-3 months ...Read more
