Maybe: Tv and video games are geared for a 4 second attention span. Most 2 year olds have longer attention spans than that. The 4 second attention span keeps your son alert via a neural reflex. It also lowers his attention span for the real world. Research states of those who watch 1 hour a day 9% will lower their attention span to add levels. 2 hours lowers 18% and 3 hrs 27%. Yes: One would hope for a more-than-cyber experience of life -- allowing real-time relationships with actual people, with all their challenges and rewards. Playing video games all day leaves no room for this, or for interests outside of video games. One's awareness would be extremely narrow. Concussions Tragic: As a player& doctor i think the legacy of soccer concussions are potentially destructive over a lifetime for players just as we have seen in the nfl. Girls playing through college may be at higher risk. Current gear does not have strong proof of protection.
