If its crooked: If the blow to the nose has make it crooked or pushed off to one side then it was broken. You do not need an xray to diagnosis this. If the nose shape is different as the swelling goes done, then it was broken. You should see a facial surgeon soon so it can be reset. If this is done within 2 weeks then it is simple and effective treatment. ...Read more

Chest Contusion: If you can take a deep breath and cough without pain, you have no difficulty breathing, did not pass out and you are not dizzy with no underlying medical problems it is very unlikely that you have anything more than a chest wall contusion. ...Read more

Probably not: You have received a contusion and these take a little time to heal. If the vision is normal and you do not see double, then you just need a little more time for this bump which is probably a bruised healing point to disappear. You might try using local heat to speed this process. ...Read more

At risk for problems: Hi Randy- With nasal trauma, it is best to have your doctor or depending on the urgent care available in your area to examine your nose. Sometimes you can develop a septal hematoma (a collection of blood) that they body has a hard time handling on its own. Icem NSAID, obs: An elbow to the head -ouch! probably caused a bump called a hematoma which is a collection of blood just under the scalp. The skull is quite thick and very tough, this injury is between skull and skin, not in the brain. Ice the area, take Ibuprofen or tylenol (acetaminophen) at proper doses, and it should slowly shrink and resolve. If any dizziness, vision changes, etc, see a doc. ...Read more

Contusion: Chest wall contusion is the medical term for your condition. If it doesn't hurt to breath, it is a good sign. If it doesn't bother you at all, i'd leave it alone and it will heal nicely. ...Read more

Likely not: Unless the blunt trauma caused damage to the muscle of support structures. This type of trauma sounds quite severe and the eye should be examined to make sure no serious eye injury took place. ...Read more
