Is it safe to give an 8 month old baby Infant Tylenol (acetaminophen) every day during teething to help with teething pain & discomfort? Baby's weight is 18 lbs.
Use glass: All the plastics leach out some chemicals. Better with glass. Or even better, breast feed.Breast milk can be pumped and frozen too for later use or when you are away from baby. Breast milk is always best. ...Read more

Baby bottle tooth decay and pulling all teeth? My sister and brother-in-law have taken on a two year old that they want to adopt. They took her to the dentist, and the dentist said that she has severe tooth decay in almost all of her teeth, and wants to h
I : I agree with dr funari. I would seek a second opinion with a pediatric dentist because they see more of this on a regular basis. Without x-rays it would be hard to say that all the baby teeth need extracted. I only pull baby teeth if they are infected and unrestorable. If the decay is at or in the nerve i will try to save the tooth with a baby root canal and crown. Sometimes if I have to remove a lot of teeth i try to save at least the back baby molars and canines to maintain the occlusion and ability to chew food. I also try to get the back baby molars by until the sic year molars erupt. To remove all the baby teeth will cause many problems which dr funari mentioned above. If the child is only two you will have to sided that sedation will be needed to treat her. If every tooth has decay it is dental neglect. Please get a second opinion. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

I have always given my 3 & 2 years old kids nestle bottled water . Do plastic chemicals get into such water? Is it safe?
Yes: It is safe to drink the water. Everything in life involves risks versus benefits. Even if they could measure femtogram amounts of plastic in the water then the question becomes how much of it would be absorbed by your children. I don't know about the water supply where you actually live but keep checking on it. ...Read more
My 4 year old's toys are dangerous for babies. How can I keep our baby safe without banishing his sister?
Better choices: Fortunately, manufacturers know there may be problems when there are older children in the family. They now make toys that are great for the 4 year old older child, yet not harmful to the younger child. Look for purchasing safer toys initially. Also helpful is to put the older child in charge (with parental supervision) in purchasing toys. That way the older child will help with the safety. ...Read more
Is it ok to put 2 teaspoons of lactose sol 10/15 ml xvi in my 7mnth old's baby bottle 2x a day instead of giving it to him by mouth mouth?
Lactulose for baby?: Lactulose (i think this is what you meant) is used in specific cases, mostly for hepatic encephalopathy but also for difficult-to-treat constipation. I would assume this is a pediatrician-prescribed medication and therefore you would have gotten good advice on dosing. As far as the bible on drugs (the pdr) there is no problem diluting with water, juice or milk. Check with your doc to be sure. ...Read more
