Doctor insights on:
My wife had an endometriosis due to chocolate csyst then 3 months of zoladex (goserelin) 3.5 mg medication. How are the chances f having a healthy pregnancy.
Patent Tubes?: Hard to counsel your chances without all the information available. One thing to consider though is that endometriosis to the degree that leads to a cyst requiring surgical removal may sometimes affect the tubes, which if they're not open, then your chances are 0%. Hysterosalpingogram is a study that injects dye through the cervix to determine if the tubes are open. ...Read more

I'm using zoladex (goserelin) 10.8mg, but when I search about zoladex (goserelin) it says "the 10.8-milligram syringe should not be used in women" why?
Depends: Zoladex (goserelin) comes in 3.6 & 10.8 mg implants. The lower dose is designed to supress gonadotropin release (medical menopause) for 28 days. The higher dose for approx 3 months. Usually, you'll resume cycles 1 & 3 months respectively although there can be a 2-4 week lag depending on your age, ovulation patterns, and proximity to menopause. Remember it's not birth control and this is needed. ...Read more

See answer: Depends on the reason you are on Zoladex (goserelin)...If it is Endometriosis, then your pain should have resolved or if you are on it for bleeding then bleeding should have resolved. Bottom line is it shouldn't matter what your Estradiol and Progesterone are, although your ovaries are suppressed by the levels you posted and your medication is working. Hope this helps. ...Read more
How long does it take for zoladex (goserelin) injection to work IV had it 10 days ago and still in pain with cyst on ovaries?
IV ZOLADEX (goserelin)???: I do not think that zoladex (goserelin) IV is a currently used treatment for a painful ovarian cyst. Without details as to size and an ultrasound exam showing the cyst's characteristics, I cannot recommend treatment. A painful clear ovarian cyst can be aspirated with ultrasound transvaginal guidance and the pain should go away within a few hours, if not sooner. Hope this info helps! ...Read more

Oncologist recommends zoladex (goserelin) to be injected, given the side effects, is it worth it?
Yes: This assumes the reasons for advising the medicine are valid. With that in mind the answer is yes, overwhelmingly. Also, there are no "side effects" to zoladex (goserelin), (goserelin) only "effects". The goal of zoladex (goserelin) is to lower testosterone levels. Low levels result in a predictable set of issues over time. Side effects (unexpected problems) do not happen w/ zoladex (goserelin). Only the expected! ...Read more
