Goosebumps Down One Side Of Body
I have been experiencing goosebumps down one side of my body for 2 months. The goosebumps present themselves in strange patterns on the skin. Advice?
Goosebumps: Do the goosebumps itch? There is a condition called keratosis pilaris that often occurs over the ouside of the upper arms and occasionally on the upper outer thighs, but these usually do not itch. I get goosebumps on one side of my body and the other side is fine also feel the same in my head, I suffer from migraines & take 3 amitriptyline pills?
Weird: It sounds like you may be having some strange side effect from the amitriptyline. With nothing else to go on, that sounds at least feasible. Because it is a medication that affects nerves, see if you can taper or stop the med (with your Family Doc's permission). A drug holiday could give you one piece of information to go on. If it's not that, then keep looking for other weirdness. ...Read more
Just started today having goosebump feeling only on right side of body especially scalp and right arm and back. Happens randomly and only on that side?
Goose bumps: This is a reflex, an action your body has automatically without you even thinking about it. When you get cold or experience a strong emotion, your brain sends signals to your muscles that make them tense up. When the muscles in your skin that are attached to hairs do this, they make the hairs stand up & pull your skin up just a bit, creating goose bumps. The reflex helps to get the muscles warmed ...Read more

I fell& hit my head. I had a goose egg which now has went down but my left side of forehead&right before bottom of eye swollen/bruise. No side effects?
Gravity: The goose egg was a hematoma. A hematoma is bleeding under the skin that clots and forms a mass. The body then breaks up this clot and some of it "leaks" and appears to spread to a different area. In most cases, the spreading is below the original injury which is simply due to gravity. ...Read more

If your nose looks different despite improvement of your swelling you may have a nasal fracture. This may need to be fixed with surgical fracture reduction (if the injury was within the last 10 days or so) to reset the bones in the proper position. More formal reconstructive rhinoplasty may be needed if the bones have already set in place, though.
You can visit with a facial plastic surgeon or otolaryngologist (ENT) to have your nose checked out to see what treatment you may need. ...Read more

My daughter has been on approximately 10 migraine meds for past 6 months, none helped. She has chronic goosebumps and her body temp is out of whack.
Right diagnosis?: When a person suffers with recurrent symptoms despite trials of appropriate treatment regimens, especially when combined with symptoms that are not typical of the suspected condition, the original diagnosis should be reconsidered. A neurologist should be able to shed more light on the source of your daughters pain. An MRI of the brain with and without contrast would be a helpful study. ...Read more

What's normal???: When it comes to goosebumps (or "piloerection"), there probably is no "normal." People get them in all kinds of weird ways.
