Aspirin Dose: This is a difficult question to answer without knowing why you are taking it. If you are taking Aspirin for its cardioprotectant effect, the dose is considerably lower than what you are taking on the other hand, if you are taking it as an anti-inflammatory agent for osteoarthritis, the dose seems a little low. It depends: Aspirin is very good for heart attack prevention. It is also an antiinflammatory. The problem is that the incidence of stomach problems including severe bleeding is high with aspirin. Since other antiinflammatories tend to be more gentle on the stomach we usually prescribe those instead. Aspirin thins blood more so than other anti-inflammatories as well. For example medications to ease pain, relieve anxiety or depression, prevent seizures, etc aspirin reduces risk of mortality from heart disease, but your risk of having any heart disease within the next 30 years is virtually zero. Not so safe: Aspirin does cause gastritis(Inflammation and even ulceration in the lining of the stomach). Alcohol has similar but milder effect on the stomach lining. So two of them together can create a bleeding ulcer and hence not recommended to be taken together.
