Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (gnrh) stimulates what?

Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (gnrh) stimulates what?

FSH,LH: Gnrh stimulates follicle stimulating hormone & luteinizing hormone which stimulates the ovary to produce estrogen and Progesterone which stimulates ovulation which causes increased Progesterone which causes secretory endometrium which prepares the endometrium to allow implantation of a fertilized egg. If no fertilized egg, Progesterone falls which stimulates gnrh to again rise & the cycle repeats. ...Read more

What are gonadotropins?

What are gonadotropins?

Fertility treatment: Gonadotropin hormones affect the ovaries or testes - fsh or follicle stimulating hormone and lh or luteinizing hormone. These are used for fertility treatment: for women undergoing in vitro fertilization (ivf) to cause production of multiple eggs, for ovulation induction or superovulation (releasing more than one egg), or for low hormone levels (hypogonadism) in women or men trying to conceive. ...Read more

Can Clomid (clomiphene) raise FSH levels?

Can Clomid (clomiphene) raise FSH levels?

Yes: After taking Clomid (clomiphene) fsh levels may rise - this is the basis of the Clomid (clomiphene) challenge test (cct, also known as the ccct) which is a test of ovarian reserve or 'egg supply'. For this test you get an fsh level and Estradiol blood test on day 2 or 3, take 100 mg or two pills of Clomid (clomiphene) a day from days 5 to 9, then repeat the fsh test on day 10. Clomid (clomiphene) does not affect day 2 or 3 fsh levels though. ...Read more

How are gonadotropins usually taken?

Daily injection: All are given as injections, once daily is common. Some stimulation protocols call for multiple daily shots. Somewhere between 5-to-11 total days is also typical, but this can also vary depending on the clinical specifics of the patient and the preferences of the doctor. ...Read more

Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (gnrh) stimulates the production what?

Good question: Gnrh would seem by its name to help release gonadotropin. And if used in a certain fashion it could cause the release of gonadotropins (lh, fsh). However when given in a shot and having a sustained effect on the pituitary, it actually suppresses the release of lh and fsh. And this aspect of the medication can be used to help in many situations. ...Read more

PCOS?? Antimullerian 2.10 ng/ml Estradiol 109 pg/ml FSH 3.23 mIU/ml Inhibin B 161.0 pg/ml LH 5.82 mIU/ml

PCOS: PCOS is diagnosed by 1) irregular periods, 2) high androgen levels (such as testosterone), and/or 3) many small ovarian follicle cysts, usually seen on ultrasound. These criteria are the Rotterdam/ESHRE diagnostic criteria, the Androgen excess Society has a similar but slightly different criterion. None of the tests you have listed are used for diagnosing PCOS. I hope this helps, good wishes. ...Read more

What hormone stimulates spermatogenesis?

What hormone stimulates spermatogenesis?

Here are some...: It's hard to say which one stimulates which; oftentimes multiple factors are interacting to make a organ properly although one of the involved factors may play a major role for its overall functions. For sperm formation, FSH (follicule-stimulating hormone) is the key one but conjunction with healthy testicular tissue and LH as well as testosterone. More? Ask your Dr., preferably urologist. ...Read more

Does the human chorionic gonadotropin (hcg) hormone work to lose weight?

Does the human chorionic gonadotropin (hcg) hormone work to lose weight?

Actually, no.: This probably would not work to lose weight. It goes up in the beginning of pregnancy, peaks and falls slightly by term. When it goes up, the mother increases in weight and the baby also grows, so it is unlikely that this would result in or enhance weight loss. As of december 6, 2011, the fda has prohibited the sale of "homeopathic" and otc HCG diet products and declared them illegal. ...Read more
