With a toxic multinodular goiter (MNG), the patient is hyperthyroid, whereas with a non-toxic MNG, the patient has normal thyroid function, so thyroid function is the difference. Some (statistically a minority) of non-toxic nodules are thyroid cancer, and may need fine needle aspiration biopsy to evaluate based on nodule size and other ultrasound characteristics. There is a risk the nodule is a thyroid cancer, so your doctor will probably send you to an endocrinologist to get a fine needle aspiration biopsy. Careful SymptomsOnly: clues, far from whole story of what is going on. Goiter (enlarged thyroid) driven by low iodine intake, increased TSH, antibodies which emulate TRH, etc. Levothyroxin only a molecule used at as treatment tool, may address some of the symptoms/issues but does not solve the cause. Radiclopayhy?: it is extremely rare to have radiculopathy in that region only. I wonder if you have muscular spasm, worsened by laying flat for a long time during and after surgery. I would think PT OT chiro maybe helpful in ur case as well as rehab doctor evaluation. Take care! ...Read more
