See answer: The normal dose of Flomax (Tamsulosin) is 0.4 mg 1-2 daily either together or 12 hrs apart. Would not expect any serious reaction (s) from taking the extra dose and you should be able to resume your once daily dosing 24 hrs after taking the 2 doses. Maybe something else: You should see some improvement with Flomax (tamsulosin) within several days, in most cases. If you are not seeing any improvement, there may be something else going on other than BPH, such as a urethral stricture or some other cause for mechanical obstruction. Twice as much: Taking twice the dose of tamsulosin can make a fair amount of difference for some people, but often it just increases the amount of lightheadedness (orthostatic hypotension).
