Cold turkey off 40mg citalopram 3rd day, flu like feeling, fuzzy head and severely being sick? Really not feeling well at all

Stopped citalopram: Did you stop your medication at the instruction of a physician? It's best to talk to your doc, even if you don't want to continue a medication, and plan for a taper and medical supervision, rather than stopping abruptly on your own. The symptoms you're describing are commonly associated with abrupt discontinuation of an SSRI. A taper would avoid them. ...Read more

Wife has bad chest cold. Coughing yellow phlegm. Sore from coughing, lack of sleep. Takes citalopram and clonazepam for panic attacks, zyrtec (cetirizine) for allergies. What to take now and when to get help.?

Symptomatic care: Most colds go away on their own and do not need medications, even with phlegm. Fluids, rest, tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain can all be helpful. Sometimes antihistamines like zyrtec can make getting secretions loose harder. Some folks feel vitamin c helps, and it likely will not hurt, but no great studies exist. Zinc lozenges may have a role.
