Goat Milk Vs Cow Milk For Toddlers
Goat vs cows milk: There is very high degree (92%) of similarity between cows milk and goats milk. So the short story is no. If one wanted to try an alternative type of milk, then mare's milk is much less cross reactive.See 1 more doctor answer
Cow vs goat milk : The two types of milk are different allergenically. Only about a quarter of people who are allergic to cow's milk are also allergic to goat or sheep milk, according to a spanish research group who studied 58 children with severe milk allergies and found 15 had some cross-reactivity. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22432882.See 1 more doctor answer
Bf 6 wk old he has cow milk allergy I'm trying to stay dairy free but found out something's I eat have dairy, would goat formula be best or breastfeed?
Breastfeeding Best: Food protein-induced proctitis/proctocolitis is caused by proteins from cow's milk, which are ingested through breast milk or standard cow's milk based formulas. Treatment consists of complete elimination of cow's milk from the diet. Breastfeeding is always best. Strict avoidance is key, read labels and stay vigilant. Good news is that sensitivity resolves by one year of age in almost all infants.
Rare: Most of the time people with cow's milk allergy cross react to goat and sheep milk. The casein proteins share 87-98% of the same Amino Acids across all 3 species. Therefore it is possible to only be allergic to goat or sheep, but not very likely. Goat and sheep milk are not safe substitutes for people with anaphylactic reactions to cow's milk.See 1 more doctor answer
Not a good idea: Gaots milk is designed for goats. It is not balanced nutrition for a human infant and is specifically deficient in folate (folic acid).Formulas are balanced and several are available to meat the specific needs of any kid.I encourage people to wait until after age 1 yr to offer goats milk.See 1 more doctor answer
Better than cow but:: In general I agree with the many experts who say that milk is designed by nature as a food for babies and most adults are better off avoiding milk. See http://saveourbones.com/osteoporosis-milk-myth/ But if you really want milk for some reason, goat milk is a healthier choice than cow's milk. See http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/natural-health/goat-milk-benefits/ for more information.
Great for goats: Just like cow milk is designed for cows, human milk for humans, goats milk is for goats. It's only value in public exchange is for those whose culture prefers it to cow milk when the kid is old enough to be off breast milk or formula. It is deficient in various nutrients required for proper human growth and development and can lead to a predictable form of megaloblastic anemia.See 2 more doctor answers
Not necessarily: Goat milk is deficient in many of the nutrients that human infants need for proper growth and development. Folate (folic acid) is one of the items it lacks & some commercial goat milks have added this to their product to improve if for human consumption. There are at least a dozen formulas available that provide balanced nutrition for infants. Certainly one will be adequate for any infant.
Of course not: Please forgive my frankness. Somebody made this up as a cruel prank. If your acne hasn't responded to topical benzoyl peroxide as tolerated after two weeks, get with your personal physician who can add something that will clear you. I'm really sorry that you had to ask -- acne is a grave personal and professional liability that you need to manage until it remits on your own.
I have an acne for years and now I am 18 years old.Would you tell me what will be good for my face? I use soap with goat milk but its not enough....
Acne: Wash face w gentle cleanser 2x/day ; use oil free products. No oily hair or heavy foundations. Try not to pop pimples. Avoid touching face (cradling chin in hands). Remove makeup before bed. Shower after strenuous exercise. Consider otc products (salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide). If > mild acne see dermatology.
Which one is a better suplement for a nearly 20 year-old girl: pomegranate, grapeseed, chlorophyl or milk thistle (goat milk)? & what are they good for?
Hello, after eating some cereals with a goat milk,I am getting pain while urinating, and it happens only when I eating them. What could be the cause?
Dysuria: Most likely UTI and not related to goat. have team do urinalysis.
Why mucous in infant stools sometimes accompanied by tiny blood strains. My baby is almost 5 months old . We have switched to goat milk one month ago.
Milk intolerance: How is your child doing on goats milk? Hopefully better. Your child may be cows milk intolerant.See 1 more doctor answer
Not really: Some people feel that they tolerate goats milk better than cows milk. However, if you are lactose intolerant, you will be intolerant to both cow and goat milk. If you are sensitive to the protein in cows milk, causing bloating, constipation, and cramping, you will likely have the same problem with goats milk. Goats milk does not provide better nutrition for humans than cows milk.
Thank you. I was dianosed with casein intolerance. I've been avoiding cow dairy. How do I know if I'm supposed to avoid goat's milk/cheese too?
Separate protein: The way your immune system works a sensitivity is to a specific origin, like the protein from cows is different than protein from goats,so you are not automatically sensitive to the goat product. You can be tested for sensitivity to goat products, but I would consider it safe unless your system starts to signal otherwise.
Cow's milk causes acne me ( i stopped drink) but buttermilk not (from a milkman near to me ) . Can you explain why ?? And can i take goat yogurt ??
How important is it that a 12-mo-old gets milk? I want to wean, but he won't drink any other kind of milk (cow, goat, coconut, and almond).
Not mandatory: Milk is an easy vehicle to provide calcium, protein, fat, sugar and fluid. All can be provided through alternative sources. Cheeses and yogurt can provide adequate calcium, or two ground up Tums (calcium carbonate) antacid tabs. The rest of the diet can provide the rest. You may find this is just a battle over the breast, and a week or two after you stop the kid may take anything.See 2 more doctor answers
Through adulthood: As tolerate through adulthood. Most of the brain growth occurs in the first 6 years which is why whole cow's milk is recommended. If lactose intolerant, there is lactaid or special milk for that. Milk and milk products help maintain a healthy weight, healthy bones, vitamin D level which may help prevent cancer. http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/prevention/vitamin-DSee 1 more doctor answer
