Yes: After taking Clomid (clomiphene) fsh levels may rise - this is the basis of the Clomid (clomiphene) challenge test (cct, also known as the ccct) which is a test of ovarian reserve or 'egg supply'. For this test you get an fsh level and Estradiol blood test on day 2 or 3, take 100 mg or two pills of Clomid (clomiphene) a day from days 5 to 9, then repeat the fsh test on day 10. Clomid (clomiphene) does not affect day 2 or 3 fsh levels though. ...Read more
Fsh is a peptide hormone synthesized in the anterior (forward) pituitary gland in both males and females. The name 'follicle stimulating hormone' refers to its role in females, namely to recruit and prepare an oocyte (egg) in the first half of the menstrual cycle leading up to ovulation. Fsh is often measured in blood to test a woman's ovarian ...Read more
PCOS?? Antimullerian 2.10 ng/ml Estradiol 109 pg/ml FSH 3.23 mIU/ml Inhibin B 161.0 pg/ml LH 5.82 mIU/ml
PCOS: PCOS is diagnosed by 1) irregular periods, 2) high androgen levels (such as testosterone), and/or 3) many small ovarian follicle cysts, usually seen on ultrasound. These criteria are the Rotterdam/ESHRE diagnostic criteria, the Androgen excess Society has a similar but slightly different criterion. None of the tests you have listed are used for diagnosing PCOS. I hope this helps, good wishes. ...Read more
Probably: Normal ranges can vary from lab to lab, so the 1st step would be to compare your results to the reference range, usually listed in parentheses such as (1.5 - 10). For hormone tests, however, results have to be interpreted in the context of what is happening clinically. Expected values for someone who is pregnant, or on birth control pills, or who should be ovulating at the time could all differ. ...Read more
FSH,LH: Gnrh stimulates follicle stimulating hormone & luteinizing hormone which stimulates the ovary to produce estrogen and Progesterone which stimulates ovulation which causes increased Progesterone which causes secretory endometrium which prepares the endometrium to allow implantation of a fertilized egg. If no fertilized egg, Progesterone falls which stimulates gnrh to again rise & the cycle repeats. ...Read more
High follicle-stimulating hormone (fsh) and luteinizing hormone (lh)--what are normal levels at ovulation?

Turns yellow: Luteining hormone is a peptide (not a steroid) hormone in the pituitary gland of both females and males. Its name (lh) comes from one of its actions in females, which is 'luteinization' of ovarian granulosa cells. Luteinization means literally to 'turn yellow.' luteinization is a necessary change in the ovary so that it can produce Progesterone after ovulation. ...Read more

Clomid (clomiphene) is an estro receptor.Brain needs estrogen surge to release lh.Which means ppl on Clomid (clomiphene) don't have LH surge? How egg burst out?
Got confused?: You are getting yourself confused. Clomid (clomiphene) is not an 'estro receptor' at all; it is mainly an estrogen receptor antagonist, but it has pro-estrogenic actions in some tissues and anti-estrogenic actions in others. Women on Clomiphene do mostly have an lh surge; not surging means the Clomiphene dose was likely too low. ...Read more

Period slight irregular.Multiple small cysts on ovaries. Day 21: progesterone 6.25nmol/l, LH 19.72miu/ml, FSH 7.45miu/ml, Prolactin 133.13 mu/l. Pcos?
Maybe: The data you provide don't give an absolute answer. "Multiple small cysts" sounds consistent with PCOS but without an image it might not. A Progesterone of 6+ only indicates that you ovulated. FSH and LH are not part of the diagnosis, nor is an FSH/LH ratio. Prolactin also is not part of PCOS diagnosis, but at 133 your is way too high, be certain to test it again fasting. ...Read more
