Fasting normal: 65-105 when drawn out of a vein while fasting. Various authorities have different "normal" levels. There are, however, no exact cut-offs, it's all a continuium. Finger sticks are not accurate enough for diagnosis. Two hour post meal should be less than 130-140, and any glucose >200 at any time suggests diabetes. I'd elevated TSH;around 18, taking eltroxin 100 mcg daily, it's under control now but I look bloated, height 5.7", 145 lbs, age 29. What is wrong here?
Hypothyroidism: Eltroxin (levothyroxine) is used for hypothyroidism. If your TSH is 18, then you probably need an increase in dose of your eltroxin, although 100 mcg is probably enough to make you feel better, but a dose that normalizes your TSH will make you feel normal. Depends on…: Symptoms. Do u get a lot of gas & loose bm's after dairy foods? Or do you get heartburn, sour taste in mouth after fatty foods, chocolate, spicy foods, caffeine, certain meds (aspirin, tetracycline, beta-blockers)? Lactose-free products or lactase tablets + simethicone can relieve those symptoms. For other condition described, acid reflux meds will work best. If combined problem, use both. ...Read more
