From Above: A better overall strategy is to help constipation " from above" so to speak. Increased fluids, vegetables, salad, perhaps a daily spoonful of metamucil are all helpful. Add in a daily dose of Miralax (polyethylene glycol) or mineral oil and you should be able to have soft daily stools.
