Need the numbers: Hi. We can't tell you anything about your OGTT without knowing the numbers. Give us fasting and 2 hour; that's all we need. ...Read more
When one takes a drug, such as heroin or alcohol, repeatedly, 'tolerance' develops because more of the drug is needed to give the same effect on the body/brain; e.g. Liver enzymes r stimulated to metabolize the drug faster and faster. There may be a strong genetic predisposition to addiction, some studies suggesting that 1 of 10 people will become dependent on alcohol or some ...Read more

Glucose tolerance test: I passed but 1hr-173; 2hr-167; 3hr-103. I walked during last hour. Would walking make me pass when I should have failed?

Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more

IFG & IGT: Hi. You meet criteria for pre-diabetes on the basis of impaired fasting glucose (IFG) and impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). Your A1c is not yet abnormal, but you see how your glucose goes into the 50's a few hours after a challenge; that offsets the A1c, making it a less sensitive test for diabetes. Eat healthy, exercise regularly, and talk with your doc about possible medications to prevent diabe ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
